as everyone is crying out for some sort of proof that this thing is good... get your car rr'd before and after installation.

i think it will matter to most . i wouldnt spend that sort money on a performance part that didnt improve performance. looking nice doesnt come into my equation but then again im not that bothered about + or -10bhp as i have plenty horses to start with. every little helps when powers hard to come by on a wheezy old n/a engine :D

your equation goes something like this I'm guessing...

X = repair costs / time between breakdowns + subconscious guilt for destroying two iconic cars

my equation is something like
fun +smiles per miles + embarrassing other exotic car drivers is more than the value of parts and repairs combined.

2 iconic cars? only 1 iconic car was harmed in the production of this project. and it wasnt the e30.

Yes they are a copy of the btb, it the quality of the copy that is in question and if this will have a detrimental effect on performance.

Only time will tell but one thing i will ad is if hottuning are the people to test and report the results then this is not conclusive as they could manipulate the results in their favour so only an independant test on a standard healthy engine will be good enough to me and im sure plenty of others to prove its credentials.
Spot on, I think someone independant from any of these manifolds should do a before and after on this manifold. Someone like Paul (shepsevo3) who doesnt sell the BTB or hottuning or fritz manifolds. An unbias RR session is what is needed. I have a generation 2 BTB and love it, I've also seen & heard Karan's H&S on his M5 beast, that too is a work of art....

so its next saturday when we will see results, as already stated will be done by hottunning so could be swayed but for £250, and a copy of btb, if you can see the welds and grind them down yourself, could still be worth it. £650 pound for a btb is a lot of money, would really take some justifying. even if it is the best.

Mine is still sat on the dining room floor. It is not often I regard car parts as works of art,but I am still enjoying looking at it.I dropped a cylinder head off at the engine shop this week, needs three broken studs extracting and the valve seats re-cutting for bigger valves as well as new guides.Hope to have it back to fit next weekend along with the 6 branch and a new exhaust system,I think at the moment I will go with the Longlife system,it's the trip to Leeds with just the manifold on that worries me a little.... winkeye

Already built!! I am now improving it.... current spec is eta short motor,320 head with 325 cam,325 inlet with fittings and Miller MAF.Cast exhaust. Made 178bhp at 5200rpm with a flat torque curve at 180 ft lb from 2000rpm to 5000rpm. If I was to start from scratch now I would be looking at a 325 engine as a base with a 2.8 crank ala Jazzman.
