Looks like a good price whether real or not. Interior looks nice and the wheels look genuine and it looks to be in good enough nick.
The front spoiler looks to be a replica and the badge on the rear looks wrong
I like it

Am i missing something here or is there no mention of a turbo or supercharger in that ad?
It might well have an Alpina engine for all we know although it will probably just be the cam if its a 2.5.

The description sucks completely, it's being sold by a spanner. Just relooked at the ad and he's corrected it. It now says 2.7 all through the text.

Rear head rests look shite, I hope the rest of the trim standards are higher. I wouldn't want to spend more than £2500 on it. Certainly without Alpina verification.

In the spirit of all things cloth capped, if it is a peeenaaarse, then the interior detracts from it, though the colour suits the car colour well. Talking of which, what colour is it?? An alledged supercharger would also detract from the good work of the peeenarse boys.

The colour looks gash. Is that a genuine colour? If so, I've not seen one like that before.

Does look an interesting motor...

Thats not overpriced IMO do you know how rare they are?

probably rarer but in the same price league as a 320is. and more power than the 320is, Horses for courses 320IS has the S14 engine but not alu panels or 5 lug, Overall bet this has better power to weight than a 320is and possibly even an e30 m3.

Sytners uk were the only people to do a c2 2.5 which did have a ecu as a paid for extra but no other mods apart from styling. ( boot spoiler and lower front spoiler + clocks and wheel's)

Alpina gremany dont even recognize them as an alpina. Which is why you can't get the badge for them anywhere but sytners.

With ecu they made 179 bhp. But that was an estamite not proven...

Did a lot of research when I was copying one.

From the wiki article on special e30 models

"In addition to the famous M3 there were other special models of the E30. For Portugal and Italy, due to their high engine taxes, a special model was created, the 320IS. this model was produced both in 2 and 4 door versions had a detuned version of the M3 engine. it was the same S14 me engine but with 2.0l and 192hp. BMW South Africa's Motorsport division created the 333i in 1986 by fitting the 3.3 L M30 "big six" of the 733i to a 2-door E30. The resulting 333i was a major success in saloon car racing in that country and is now a collectors item. These cars, built with help from Alpina in Buschloe, Bavaraia ,Germany, featured some interesting compromises like forcing the buyer to choose between air conditioning (vital in South Africa) or power steering. They were only built in small numbers in 1986. Later when it became clear that South Africa would not be getting the M3, the 325iS was created. Initially this was merely a 325i 2-door fitted with a bodykit and a close-ratio gearbox (improving acceleration at the expense of top speed and economy) but more changes where made to keep the car competitive in South African saloon car racing. Nevertheless, these cars were always sold to the public. This culminated in the 325iS Evo II of late 1991. By now several body panels were made of aluminum, preventing the car from being washed by automated car washes, and the M20 engine grew to 2.7 L and now produced 155 kw (210 hp)and a 0-62 mph in a mere 7.5sec."

Didn't realise it was in another thread too, haven't seen that one. But it has been mentioned in this thread too hence my post.

On the subject of this particular car no ammount of internet speculation will prove wether it is or is not an alpina, zaust is right thou alpina don't even recognise these cars.

The only way you can tell for sure is to ring synters with the VIN, and even then its been many years since the car was made, part could have been taken or added over the decades.

The synters Alpinas from what I've been told had so many options available to the purchaser that there is no hard and fast rule on what any car should or should not have anyway.

Oh yes indeedy! The late C2 2.5 had a cam, ecu and exhaust along with the wheels, spoilers, suspension etc. They also did the engine mods on their own and called it the alpina sport pack. The 325i convertible i sold steve995i had this sport pack along with some tasty bmw options and i miss it very much!

Not to be confused with late C2 2.5s is the early one made up to 86 iirc which was based on a 323i and had a fully rebuilt engine to get over 2500cc, cant remember exact spec but there are a couple of zoners with one.
