Ok This could be a really stupid question but do you get any M3 E30's that are right hand drive?
As saw one yesterday which was def an M3, but I thought they only came in left hand drive.

Yes you can get a RHD M3 but they were all LHD from the factory.
Are you sure it wasnt a standard E30 with a bodykit on ?

Birds used to convert M3's to rhd.
Aparantly they aren't as good as the manifold has to be modified to fit (read more restrictive) and the steering rack is changed for a regular 325i one which is more turns lock to lock. Iirc
I would of though that it may be possible to do a e36 or z3 rack swap though to get that back?

Birds doing the conversions? bring on the women mechanics well done!! wish my bird was as handy with the spanners LOL

rack issues as you've said is not a problem these days
you do lose some brake feel but harly enough to warrant any concerns
IF the converssion is done properly then its worth buting it if you are uncomfortable driving LHD
and proper conversion means, looms and wipers etc all done correctly.
