I own my first e30 (a bog stock, ever so slightly ratty red 318 touring/workhorse) and actually rate it highly. I can be fairly hard on cars at times but she has stopped in one piece quite merrily. When I got it off fleabay for just under 500 some 15 months ago I might have broken the thing but I was flush and basically had a very long list of to-do's sorted out. The car now owes me far more than it's worth but when I like something I tend to go fairly stupid.

I've owned four e28's (an opal green 520 auto, a black 525 m20 manual, blue 528 auto and a red 520 thing which I bought and sold quickly), an e3 3.0si which was just fantastic and one day I'll have another (used as a tow car when I was racing), 3 e21's (one 323 race car, a 320 now long long gone & 316) the 316 sits in my garage awaiting some tlc or possible donation to a friend for a turbo replica project. I also raced an e28 M5 which was built by and belonged to a friend in Yorkshire.

Driven numerous BMW's with Moseley's on the road and track over the last decade and a half including pretty much all e30 M3 model variants exept a Ravaglia, an e12 M535, e36 racers, e46's and plenty more than I can really list. I suspect I'll always have a BM of some sort.

1986 D plate red 318i was the first, put loads of miles on her, and never failed me, but 2 kids + stuff mean't she had to go. Then had various makes/models (10-15) cars over the next 15 years, finally returning to E30s, and the last 3 have been .... 1989 320i Cabriolet, 1990 325i Sport .... and now 1990 black M3

Started with a 318i M10 ( B234 DNO) zin red 4 door, rusted away over the three years I owned it, now gone forever.

Next is the 88' 325i zin red which stayed N/A for about a year or so before being turbo'd, now finished stage 2 and enjoying abusing everything on the road! ( No a 2.7 could not keep up )

Then onto a 91' 316i lux in white, cheap runner, excellent body, will be donor car for the red one next year.

Last off a 90' 318i 4 door in black, awesome driving experiance, as good a e30 as I have ever driven, ask Ant, my misses has this as her daily now, so we're a e30 only family!

Four so far then, maybe more soon.

though my dad did have a red h-reg 316i lux 4door back in about 94 /95. probably the worst car he's ever owned. snapped it's cambelt despite having FSH which cost over a grand to fix, needed a couple of wheel bearings, had a clutch judder that seemed to be incureable, got smacked up the arse whilst stationary in traffic causing nearly 4 grands worth of damage and got broken into and had the radio nicked.

think that put him off bmws for life, all the alfas he's had before and since have been far less trouble.

Had a minty 2 door 320i (C195 XLB) with lots of mtech bits!! Went to the scrappy eventually!!
Had a crusty 2 door white 318i (D60 POD) for a short while. May well still be about?
Had a black 2 door 325i (E610NJT) with cream leather, aircon & azev-a rims!!! Loved it!!! Bloke i sold it to wrote it off!!
Ebay special black & delphin 4 door 318i with extra rust and leaks!!! Split for parts!!
Red 320 touring (G320JWA) - bought for the engine/diff/box - selling other bits!!!
Current Diamond black touring (E3OXX) - 2.7, LSD, H&R Coilovers, Schnitzer rims, black leather and much more!!!

Thats 6 - though it feels like more!!

Just two 93(K) 316iTouring in alpine white,bought in May 05,now claimed by er indoors(Calamity Jane) and my 89 (G) 320iSE sleeper with 2.7 and tan comfort leather in laches.When the Daimler finds a new lover I fancy a rusty 318is so that the oily bits can go to either the Touring or a kit.

89 G 325i se Cracked head couldnt get a good quote to fix so scrapped.
90 H 325i cab, going to keep for a long time.

Hope to get one again as a second car sometime when money is ok, as I am driving e46 as current car and its definatly not as fun as the e30's. I hope to carry on being an e30 owner for a very very long time...
