Assuming I put an M42 into my wagon, what exhaust would you recommend?
I don't want anything mega loud/boyracer/chavvy/boomy, more a nice thrum that sounds good when you open up the taps. I don't know if the standard systmen is the best option? Are the floorpan lengths the same for a touring as they are the 318is?
Can you get a four branch for that engine?
318 is exhuasts

the IS has a 4-2-1 manifold as standard, as for the rest of the exhaust back boxes are running out fast i bought a sebring one 3 month or so ago and when i bought that the bloke said it was one of the last two in the contry and i have no reason to think he was lieing as i spent the best part of a morning looking for some one how could order one in or had them on stock (sebring have stopped makin them) the one ive got does sound nice though so if you could find a second hand one that would be the best bet.
also supersprint and remus have stopped aswell as i did start looking in to one of these when i couldn't get initaly get the sebring i wanted.
as regards the floor pan i think the touring and the IS are the same as a local garage said that the part numbers were the same for a touring and a IS MIDDLE section in a cheepy make exhaust.
did you realise the IS manifold and middle section are sainless as standrd too?

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

Wat would a powerflow backbox be like on One, Im joining the iS club at long last, and the One I'm planning on bringing back from the UK has a Pipercross panel filter and Powerflow back box.

hmmmm, too loud for me, not smooth enough - I've just installed a genuine cat matched to a bosal back box in my E36 IS and it sounds really nice. The right tone, but maybe the volume could be turned up - if the touring could do that I'd be well impressed.
I could do with some advice on replacement 318is exhausts. Not only is mine an ugly 4 inch scorpion mess, it shakes and is barely holding on to the car. Need to get it replaced soon as - any recommendations for a decent replacement ?

I beleive Friz's Bitz have some very nice custom made iS full systems in stainless. I was looking for one a while back and a friend mentioned it to me.
Worth giving them a bell I'd say.

I emailed Torqueflow which is a company in Birmingham who make stainless steel exhausts for a price for my iS. They quoted £280 plus the cost of the end pipe. The company were featured in one of the BMW magazines. This seems a good price and intend to purchase with a twin pipe end. Will let you know how this goes.
