just trying to help. A pair of legs must weigh in at around 2 or 3 stone. An arm must be a stone or so... thats 42 lbs lost in three swift chops..

Leave him one arm so he doesnt fall over in the corners, it would be cruel otherwise.

Magnesium wheels = half the weight of alloy! Expensive but that is the best you can get! At least another 10kgs to be saved there, and thats unsprung weight so should improve the feel/handling.

Cut the spare wheel well out and replace with a nice flat piece of alloy plate

Fuel vapour catch tank from the drivers rear arch, this should never have been there in the first place IMO :)

ABS pump if you have one,

Starter motor and alternator if you want to be fussy, got to be 8kg in those two winkeye

ok... to make up for that blatant spam I will try and contribute.

If you really only want the car to last one track day, strip it of EVERYTHING you wont need. Drill holes in the A and C pillars, gut it of every last thing you can think of. Someone suggested cutting the dash in half.. Can you tell by the engine note when you need to change gear? If so... you dont need dials on a track, lose the entire dash.

Tear it up, lose everything but the steering wheel, seats and engine.

Strip the underseal off the bottom, take out the window trim/any plastic trim you can find, lose the headlights, indicators, fogs, side repeaters etc etc, and all wiring associated with these things.

strip it completely bare and you will have lost a shitload of weight.

ahhh ex 156 owner, that makes it a bit better. I love 156's... the gta obviously, or the 2.5 v6.

Always fancied one as a second car, the daily driver as it were.

Funnily enough, Tony had a 2.5 v6 and I had a 2.5 v6 with a supercharger.

Would love a GTA, but they are not cheap enough yet. Give it a year or two and they will be a proper bargain.

Thats because on 156 it is my job! Here, I am sure one of the moderators will be on to you soon enough.

As you can see, I have been a member of this forum for a year and a half and have racked up a total of 12 posts.

Why change a habit of a lifetime? In over 20,000 post on 156 I don't think you have ever helped anyone :D

Anyway, enough spamming on this forum for now.

Will see you over on 156 no doubt :)

Have fun

[OT]Nothing beats the sound of a v6 with a good exhaust at full chat.

The only thing I miss about my old mazda (2.0 v6) is the exhaust note :(

Well... I miss having a car that worked too, but that will change soon I bloody hope.

156's have come down in price a lot lately. I've seen a few poverty spec ones go for under 1k on auto trader. Whats the going rate for a v6? And are they as unreliable as they're made out to be?[/OT}

lose some weight in a 325...hmm... take off one of the wheels.

V6's don't seem to be much different in price from the others. Although you are probably looking at around £1500 upwards for a decent one.

The V6 is actually more reliable than the Tsparks. May have something to do with the fact that it is a 40 year old engine design, so they have worked out the kinks by now :)

On Tsparks, you have variator failure, which is the variable valve timing, as well as water pumps and timing belts. On V6's, it is only necessary to change the timing belt every 36k since they have no variable valve timing.

Also, the MAF's on the Tsparks go wrong regularly.

The flip side is the complexity of the cambelt change on the V6. It is usually over a days work and it could cost as much as £700 for a cambelt service.

But if you can stomach that and a mpg of under 20, then it is a great engine. One of the best ever produced.

For all the details, you may have heard a certain forum mentioned on this thread previously winkeye

hmm... my 2.0v6 got about 13mpg 8O

Possibly something to do with busted o2 sensors.

I know what you mean about the servicing.. full service with cambelt on mine was close to 600. Its to do with the transversely mounted big bastard engine lol.

In fact anything was really hard and expensive on that car. Water pump was an engine out job :?
