i have now replaced my prop, centre bearing, subframe, and bushes
subframe was turning in to be a git to get out. we were hanging off it and everything, i weigh 12.5 stone, the other bloke is about 16ish - no budging.
called stuart (cheers again) but i think it was we couldnt be bothered to lift the seats up (well i didnt want to really lol) so we got a copper hammer thing and bashed the bolt up that holds the subframe in. this loosened the bolt and then it come down with a wiggle as advised.
next we set fire to the old bushes and knocked them out.
time was getting on and his wife kept calling so we left the trailing arm bushes (they looked in good condition anyway definatly nothing to worry about) i will get them done when the LSD goes in
well all feels good, the poly bushes make you propper feel the road, you can feel the road surface propper. also the car loves going sideways even though its dry, it didnt like it much before. i suppose all the power was just moving all the bits about on the fecked rubbers. the power gets put down now.
next step : engine bay - alternator belt, fan coupling, stud drilled out of head, plugs, oil + filter, gearbox oil change and strut brace to go on. and engine bay jet wash i think
does anyone advise any company that would drill out my stud in my head (its the one closest to the rad so loads of room when the water bottle is removed) i have a 6 cyl
stu, im puzzled as to how you remove the subframes without a ramp. also my diff was being held in by 2.5 bolts to the subframe
i also copper slipped al springs and rubber bits that hold them in, and also the poly anti rol bar bushes = no more suspension creaks lol
and the wheels light up when changing to 2nd gear
