It's a bit hard to value them really, as they can differ so much in condition, rarity etc, but early rough ones seem to go for 3-4k, and good late ones about 7-9k.
Then obviously there's the rarer models, Evo I, Evo II, Evo Sport, Cecotto, Ravaglia and these do hold a premium, especially the evo sport, one was recently sold for circa 38k with delivery mileage on the clock.

Condition is probably the most important thing here. Not just the body but everything as things are really expensive to replace.
You have to look at everything and then put a value on it.
I sold my black one for Ԛ£5500, it was a D reg with ACS parts and it was in excellent condition. The buyer didnt even bother haggling.

A bloke from my area (Hull) used to have a Ravaglia which he imported 4ish years back, but it vanished a year or so ago. Was nice but had a few scratches on it, would love to know what happened so if anyone knows of a metallic black Ravaglia reg no H...DAT it'd be nice to hear from you, i'd display the full reg but dont know if the current owner would be happy! I'd also consider importing one from Germany as i have a friend who's German and regularly travels to see his family over there. Selling my fast but too boy racer 330bhp Nissan Pulsar, going to bide my time and get the best most original M3 i can, should have about Ԛ£7-9k to play with so i'l hopefully be able to get a reasonably low mileage immaculate M3!

hi
did they make black ravagalias?

No, I believe that they were all Misano Red or Nagaro Silver. I never seen one as there where only 25 made but that is open to some debate as there are are suppose to be more than the 505 Cecotto/Ravaglia models out there.c76jon wrote:hi

You can have Diamond Schwarz ( Diamond Black) on the M3's but this isn't really that black IMO. It more of a dark graphite.
But your right, the Sport Evo was the only version in the flat non metalic black Glanzschwarz or Schwarz II as it is also know. Jet Black to me and you.
The colour code should be on the drivers side strut tower.

I did an insurance quote on direct line using its reg no and it listed the car as a ravaglia, i supose direct line could well be wrong! i remember it was metallic black, could it be an evo2 convertible??
I'l post some pics of it later if i can dig them out

If the M3 your thinking of was a convertible then it can't possibly be a Ravaglia.
Doesn't the story go that there were 480 Euro Cecottos and 25 UK Ravaglias. Basically the same spec car (produced Apr - Jul 1989, 215bhp) and the info i've seen indicates that the Cecottos were available in Misano Red, Nogaro Silver and Macao Blue while the Ravaglias were Misano Red only. They should also have body colour valve cover and plenum but they could easily be painted separately, so that's no guarentee.

This is true, but I know of a few Ravaglia's that were paint Nagaro Silver. I was surprised at first too.CaesarBob wrote:If the M3 your thinking of was a convertible then it can't possibly be a Ravaglia.

The was only ever one cab made to Evo 2 spec and that was was white.
Sound like the cat has either been painted or is a normal M3.
You will be able to tell what model it is from the chassis number.

e30 m3's are a funny business.
Crap early cars with high miles and tatty bodies go for 3-5k generally...
Then tidy ones seem to fall between 5 and 10k!
Obviously evo2's, ravaglia, cecottos etc seem to demand higher values as with the obvious sport evo being highly desirable.
Convertibles range from 6 and ahalf to 12k or 17k like munich legends had!
To put it into perspective, chris heath , who owns that MINT red convertible said he would be asking 16kish for his!

Agree with rags, prices vary a lot depending on condition. Just make sure it has lots history if you are paying a good price for it!

BMW really don't help matters when they don't publish definite details about the models produced. Surely they could produce accurate results if they wanted to.M3Pilot wrote:This is true, but I know of a few Ravaglia's that were paint Nagaro Silver. So there was one Evo II Cab in White, the rest being standard M3s and a few Ravaglias that were made in Nogaro Silver.
