Well depends how much money you have. TBH mate, I think you should spend less on the car and more on the insurance if I was you.

I have to really get to go in a good 325i cab. I let a mate test drive my 320i cab, he loves it. We went to Southampton to look at a 325i cab which wasn't very honest in the bodywork or interior and electrics.
I expected to really feel a difference in performance and I was less than impressed. It must have been a real sh*tter as I felt no discernable difference through the revs to mine. So if anyone wants to change my mind, let me know!!!
Nice golf mate, got to drive a mates 150 bhp 2ltr conversion, first time since I rolled my own mk2 gti. Yeah it felt bloody quick and torquey too. Was happily harrassing a new audi 1.9tdi up hill, which I eventually killed!! Cornered really well. Well set up Golfs seem like they don't understeer like most fwd cars.

yeah a good valver with the right suspension, i.e coilovers and ARB's will hold the road like shit to a shovel!
So what your saying is if i went in a 325 cab my golf would feel quicker, at the end of the day they are two different cars completely, i fancy some top down fun at the end of the day, not a hard core racer hatchback!

i think the golf would fill faster than the 325 but the 325 is smooth,
i would say get down to ace cafe on the last monday of the month its german night, you could talk to people about there cars, but i would say people with cabbys will say there better and people with hard tops will say there the better 1, i would say test drive some as you get a 325 and a 325 iv had 3 and there all been different to drive, little things can make the car fill doggy.

With the list of things you've done to your Golf I wouldnt expect a 325 cab to get close to it in the speed or handling stakes, but if you want a cab is speed really the issue ? Ive just bought another MK2 GTI after having had my e30 for 15 months and while the beemer was quiter, smoother and more comfy it doesnt come close to the Golf in the way it handles and if you do get a 6 pot e30 you'll be getting to know your local petrol station a lot more

. But as with anything its a personal choice thing so good luck, hope you end up with a motor you'll be happy with
