Hi All
Here are the details of Ian's funeral. If you plan to attend, please consider car sharing if possible.
Many members from the E30 Zone and other Facebook communities Ian was part of have donated towards flowers, which has been kindly organised by Corkie.
Ian's son, Dean, has also mentioned the idea of a memorial bench. If the family agrees, I would like to make a donation on behalf of the Zone towards this.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday and to everyone who contributed to the flowers your generosity is truly appreciated.
It was a very sad day, but a beautiful service. Ian’s sons and family did him proud.

'I'm not a lurker but a passionate observer.'
Iain would have found that amusing, but he'd know the meaning. Beaulieu, Santa pod and more.
Funnily enough ten years after we'd last talked on e30zone I learnt one day that he had a problem with a package. it just so happened out of several hundred thousand possible issues I could have been working on, I spotted the Scottish spelling of Iain amongst a database entry. I looked at the problem at the highest level and then personally contacted my old friend.
Sure enough, my old friend and warm as ever. Yes I still have an E30 and, you know Iain, the current position with his hartge h27.
There's not a punch line coming to this, and that was Iain's way. We know why he lived in the way he did and his backstory and we really enjoyed just a bloke who liked cars. We share a common interest in history too and so I bump into people todaywho know him through that.
Rather than a teenager with taste, he was the old man with a plan. The plan was always bringing people together.
I still have my E30. I still remember my late night walks talking about the e30zone, my home for many years.
E30's in bits, obviously but I look to the future and it's reincarnation.
Thank you to Iain and to all the admins

I never met Iain but had Facebook messenger chats with him and he once called me out of the blue to have a chat about E30 parts and the best place to get them. Also about general E30 ownership.
When he found out I had weimerarner's too ( big silver / grey dogs for those who don't know) well that was it.
He asked for updates and pic of the mum as she had puppies last Christmas and asked if he could share pics of the pups growing up too.
And when his dog was ill we also talked about her and how she sat in the passenger seat of his E30 when they went out and about.
I hope the dog is ok, as they get very attached to their human and she will be missing him too.
What a good guy.
