We've just bought a new house, so for the first time since I was a kid I have a double garage to play with. It's new build, so a blank canvas. Looking to you guys for inspiration (pics), practical tips, etc to get setup for minor E30 tinkering and practical family garaging :D

Paint the floor at least and build a very strong bench along one long wall, loads of proper lighting and a lock to keep her indoors away so it cant be "tidied up" and air freshners smuggled in too.
Can you sink a pit in it ?
An engine hoist is very useful for lots of ideas too.
Oh, music as well, goes without saying.
Just to start off with winkeye winkeye

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

The floor is already painted. Sinking a pit would probably be a massive pain in the arse (the "house" I grew up in had pits, gantries and diesel tanks... lots of fun for a kid, but a health & safety disaster zone).
Lighting probably needs an upgrade. Engine hoist is a good idea.
Lock is on the wrong side of the door - her indoors can lock me in, but I can't lock her out!

Couple of things:
If you have a compressor, get an air hose reel that's wall mounted
Bright led lights, Screwfix do good ones
Extra fridge/freezer as overflow for your kitchen one
Some sort of on the wall pedal bike storage
A tool chest
Hooks on the wall for garden tools
Overhead storage - especially useful above where the garage door opens up
Extension cord reel mounted on the ceiling
Parking mat - has a small bump on it and lets you park in the exact same spot each time
Microwave, kettle, mini fridge, radio

A decent epoxy floor paint for sure. Not cheap but really worth it. And lots of light, I’d avoid flood light style ones as they an cast an annoying shadow if you stand in the wrong place. Work surfaces and as much storage as you can. If you get compressor spend the money on a decent one. Anything less than 200L and 15cfm is only good for pumping up tyres.

The Pirelli calendar was always good for tasteful 'glamour' shots.

Don't forget you also need mugs so filthy that they need industrial solvent to stand any chance of getting clean.

I’ve got a large double with a rubber matting floor, mid rise scissor lift, multi-fuel stove with back boiler and 4 radiators. Racking along the walls and a bench on the back wall. Lots of sockets and strip lights and a double glazed UPVC side door.

It’s ace.

I picked up a proper 80s porn mag today at an antiques fair. Plan to keep it in the E30 for a laugh.

Lucky to acquire the workshop we had for the Marbells Buggys when I worked on them and they moved. I snapped it up.
Only 145€ a month including light so needed to be a stowage unit as much as a home for my Kit car project 'Ukhozi', and Suzuki 400.
First off paint walls and floor the overhead storage to use ALL the room, long wall of 'pegboard' and a space for the tool chest between 2m long benches, a compressor and a separate cupboard with a thick wooden top for grinder and drill.

Only problem is crap expands to fill the space available.
