Every e30 steering extremely heavy??

Got my first e30 a few months ago and the steering is extremely heavy, is every e30 like this? If not what’s the problem

I don't know about 'extremely heavy' but it's not light compared to modern stuff.

Does it have powered steering? If it does is it working? Fluid? Would help to know what it is..........?

My early 323i chromie had no powered steering from the factory and 16" Alpinas with 205 tyres. That was heavy but I drove it for 12 years just fine. You only have to be moving a bit and the steering is fine. People too used today to swinging it lock to lock at standstill

A PAS rack that doesn't work is heavier than a manual rack
