Steve was laid to rest yesterday in Hull and a few of us were able to attend and pay our respects and those of the wider ‘Zone’ community who knew him. We were asked to celebrate his life yesterday, and this thread is intended for us all to do so.

One of my favourite memories was when I met Steve for the first time at his workplace in Bradford. I had driven down from Edinburgh and I was bursting for a shit. He pointed me in the right direction, a windowless lav, and just after I dropped my keks and took a seat, he switched the fooking light off.....

I went all over with Steve looking for a good 2 door shell for the hartge replica which he ended up building,I was the one to feed the map light mirror loom up to the small rectangular hole which the mirror fitted into ..got my finger stuck in that bloody hole I started to panic...

First trip to Santa pod -in my pre facelift car I had at that time ,I have a picture of me and Steve driving into Santa pod in that car ..I jumped behind pacer Pete once the jet car did its first run that day it scared me to death with the noise!

I could go on forever..

I never knew Steve, nor did I ever meet him but E30Topless was a name that I'm very familiar with over 15 years of using the zone. Commiserations to his family and friends.

I met Steve numerous times in Low Moor Bradford as it`s only a few miles from me and each time he always had time to stop and talk or do a deal.
It was Steve who I initially made the Hartge grille badges for and it was him who got me and my lad out of the crap more than once.
I missed him when he moved to the coast but will miss him more now.
Rest in peace mate, God bless you.

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

Likewise Mart, I met him a few times, a true gent ! He also made me laugh many many times with his posts on the Zone over the years.

RIP mate.
