Wondering what parts were black when the cars left factory. Ive got a preface 2 door 325. For example, i think that the sills and wing mirrors came out of the factory black, anything else? want to make my car look as original as possible. Front valance? thinking of getting a new one - should i paint it black? Thanks
When I bought mine (which is red) it was pretty standard and it had black wing mirrors and black front valance. It also has black sills and I'm pretty sure it has never had paint. I have since changed the wing mirrors and put an m-tech front valance on, but I have recently been thinking about putting the black wing mirrors back on.

Mines a facelift but came from the factory same as above, I don't know if that's helpful or not.clarko74 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 12:37 pmWhen I bought mine (which is red) it was pretty standard and it had black wing mirrors and black front valance. Mine is an early 323i so a bit before the 325i but mine was black on the sill, below the top crease. Black mirrors, black boot lip and the front valance (black plastic on the 323i) was obviously black. Chrome on the bumpers window surrounds and gutter rails.

Like this. 1986 325i preface lift, looking as it left the factory.
Black door handles, black mirrors, black small front valance, black painted side skirt, black spare wheel well, chrome angled twin tail pipes leaving black back box.
Note the black frames on front window quarter panels.

Up to the change away from chrome bumpers, the standard finish was similar for all E30s, whether a 316 or a 325. If body kits etc were ordered then obviously the finish changed. But here is an example of a saloon 2 door factory finish.
