I have seen some e30s with rear headrests and some without, is it easy to install them or do you need to literally change the whole rear seats with ones with rear headrests?
Returned after many years out.
If you have the entire kit the only thing to do to the existing rear seat back is cut 4 holes for the head rest legs
You'll have to take the seat out, or unbolt it so you can access the back of the seat where the brackets are screwed into position.

Doubtful they will have anything suitable. Best bet is eBay, fitting is explained in the wiki, and that's what I used.spence_star wrote:ok that doesnt sound too difficult, i am sure i can get the kit from euro car parts or GSF.
Only item I had to purchase from the stealers was the 4 large nylon washers that retain the plastic guides at the top of the seats, (about 4 quid each!)
Easy job, take your time

When I was at brutus' unit yesterday, they had piles of headrests laying around. Given they're based in London, it might be worth dropping him a PM and heading over.
