Hi, I have an obd2 port computer, but would this Adapter work on my 1989 car?

Resetting service light? Adapter?

You don't need anything like that to reset the service/inspection lights. You just need to connect pin 7 of the diagnostic plug to ground with a short piece of wire. Instructions on how to do it are in the wiki.

Pin 7 is easy to identify - it's the one on the outside that 'pacman' is trying to eat. I strongly recommend that you use an earth point on the engine or body (rocker cover bolt on an M20, rear bonnet bracket on a M40/42) so that there is no chance of misidentifying pin 19.
There's absolutely no reason to use a fused jumper wire.
