Is there a favoured insurer for modded cars? Just bought an E30/M30 3.5L

I have gone with Brentacre in the past, while not the cheapest they give good service.
When there was an error with my Reg showing up on the MID database it was corrected when I called them Friday PM and I had new policy documents Saturday AM.

I've used HIC for years on loads of cars and been happy with their service and quotes, although I've never had to make a claim with them so can't comment on what they are like in that respect!

A bit of advice, don't always go for the cheapest.
Last year, I went with a new insurer as they were silly cheap for the car I was insuring (modded Impreza). Had all sorts of problems with them and cancelling the policy turned into a ball ache. Googling their underwriters revealed terrible reviews, especially in the event of a claim.
