Baur was a coach building outfit so a very caked customer COULD have give them their Tech 2 to fit a tramps hat but I very much doubt it. By the stage of the Tech 2 being manufactured, e30 Verts were available. In saying that some sickos ordered e36 Baur's a˜·gruf wrote:Is there such a thing.
It's a 320
Thanks
As Ross says, someone has probably had a kit nailed/tiger sealed to the turd.
Edit: Just noticed the "320"
The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.

The body kit, commonly known as "tech 2" was an option on any E30 from new, and nothing to do with the 325i Sport, other than this was a pre ticked option for this variant. I have a 316i that was 'tech 2' from the start.
Baurs were still in production at the time the 'tech 2' option was introduced, so there's no reason why it couldn't be genuine.

The car your talking about is the B48645, in Hennared. This wasn't a regular colour (a so called "Sonderlackierung"), so this bodykit was probably ordered when new. What also counts for it, is that it lacks foglights, which were standard on 325i's. But because this kit couldn't be ordered on other E30's than the 325i, this can't be found on the optionlist.
And Brianmoooore is correct; there are 325i Baur's with M-Technik delivered. Not much, but they do excist.
About the "sonderlackierung" Hennared, 4 Baur TC2 where painted in this colour. A 316i, two 325iX's and this 320iA RHD.

You're saying that the Texh 2 kit could only be ordered for a 325i?Baurtje wrote:What also counts for it, is that it lacks foglights, which were standard on 325i's. But because this kit couldn't be ordered on other E30's than the 325i, this can't be found on the optionlist.

Apart from pre ticked option box specials, like 'lux', 'sport', or 'design', almost nothing was standard on any E30, not even a radio. There was a different mindset back then - you created a car specific to your requirements, from the dozens of options available.
The 'fit everything as standard' idea only really started with the Japanese invasion.

Foglights where standard on 323i, 325i and 325iX. Not just on the 325i cabriolet, any E30 with these engines came with foglights.
An M-tech kit was only fitted FACTORY-off if it was either a 318iS or 325i. Off course you could order M-Tech II on your 316i, but this was than fitted by your BMW-dealer, not the factory.
