Gavla, the red hood on a black car looks the business! Good choice.

Not strictly today but Sunday scored a load of bits that should hopefully not only fix a few niggles but add a few useful bits to the store. In the process made a new E30 buddy, talked motors and gawped in awe at his V8 2 door.

Bought my old 318is M52 back from my bro-in-law after a year without it. Regretted selling it since day one! Lesson learned....

Today I made the thing run properly on the M50tu management (M3.3.1 413 ECU).

Changed the came belt .it's bean sat in the garage for 3 years time to get the old girl out
Installed pop out rear windows in my 1990 325i coupe. Easy job but should have ordered the stick-on rubber seals for the top and bottom of the windows before I started as the wait for them from my local stealer is 2 weeks. Oh well hope it doesn't rain in the meantime.

Got all chav like today and fitted and amped up some front component speakers. Bit annoyed as I ran the speaker wiring to amp the rears as well, only to find the amp my mate gave me was a 2ch not 4ch
Oh well, it's there for future upgrades if I bother.

After complaints from the OH I fitted a new throttle cable today.
Boy, what a difference - seems like it creeps up on you without noticing how stiff the cable becomes.
Anyway all sorted now and the OH is happy.

Exactly what I did today as well, mine was sticking so much I had to use a bungee cord as a return spring to get to work.hennabm wrote:After complaints from the OH I fitted a new throttle cable today.

Plus I also found it wasn't getting full throttle so I have spaced out the bracket at the inlet manifold to take out the excess slack.
Threw on some Winter tyres as well so now it is more like a throttle and not a sideways button ;)
Gave it a wash. Seems to be an everyday occurrence now we're living in the sticks. I need to get the brake lines done before next February's MOT. Decided it's too cold to be p!ss!n about on cars so am paying someone else. They can enjoy dismantling 27 year old components!
