Is it worth me lowering it? I have Saturday off and found some springs (30mm Spax)
It does sit a little bit high....

If the shell is clean then definitely worth it.

I would convert it to manual but keep all the auto bits nice and safe. They can always be put back or you could include them in a future sale.
Trevor B7 is near you and has a manual conversion for sale if i remember right.

A manual will in most "sensible forum guy's" minds will sell at a higher price but it cost money to change.
If it's a good car/shell/engine etc then keep it and convert it if you want a manual. Better the devil you know.
Think about a lightened m20 flywheel as well, help you motor along nicely.

The shell is good
It's low mileage
A patient gave it to me after I did his coronaries so it's not quite the specification I would choose but it's a good car and a very smooth drive
Many years ago I converted an E36
I needed to weld a bracket to hold the gear linkage
Do I need to do it on the E30 as well ?

no it really is bolt on conversion, theres no electrical dramas, even the bracket for the clutch pipe where it meets the flexi is on all e30 shells
Is it a 325 is assume by the oil cooler grill?
e36 manual isn't bad also, e46 is where it gets more interesting with electrics

An auto 325 is a nice car. I would leave it alone and save many hundreds of pounds and a couple of days of my life

I've got both manual and auto 325i's and I have to say that the auto is a much nicer drive

I've had both manual and auto 325i's, too, and although there was massive differences in mileage, the auto (sub 70K miles) is a joy to drive compared to the higher mileage manual.

This is true. When I am being lazy, tired or want a smooth quiet drive then I choose the 325iA
It is rather decadent
However oversteer is out of the question

Sell it and buy a manual. I've got a broken transfer box from an IX on offer if you could remove my kidney stone in the next week

Been having the same thoughts for years. I often find myself really wanting to shift gears cause i'm missing the interaction of a manual, especially in Schumacher mode. On the other hand, e30's fine autobox is lovely when you're lazy and just want to cruise along with that smooth calm 2.7 karakter in front. It's a nice relaxing combo!
Haven't made my mind up yet but defenitly not planning on selling it! What weight flywheel should i be looking for with a SETA? Which manualbox? Currently have a 3.91 open diff. What about a decent enginechip to go with it? Would that be worth it?
