Even if its from an E34 it wont fit an M50, the diesel block is about an inch longer

The M51 is more related to the M40 engine for bore spacing.

I was sold what was supposed to be a M50/52 sump gasket a couple of years ago, and found that when I offered it up to a sump, it was indeed just under an inch too long. A bit of research on the part# confirmed it was a M51 gasket.
