E30 Touring what to look out for

Hey Everyone,

I'm going looking at a e30 1993 318i LUX Touring tomorrow and was wondering what should I be looking out for in terms of problems? are there any common issues that I should look for etc?

Touring a don't seam to rust like the saloon. But they still do.

Look in the rear boot pockets and check for water and rust. Tailgate rusts under the number plate plastic. If fitted with sunroof check for rust in the cassette that the roof slides back into.

There 25+ year old cars! just go over it well in the daylight, the price should reflect the condition.

I just picked one up this week, 318i..
Rust is the main thing to look out for, rear arches as that would be a b**ch to fix, front wings wouldnt worry about too much if its at a good price as its a easy bolt on and off.
Rear boot pockets like sanchez said. Mine has a hole going through one pocket but not too diffivult to weald.aslo look at the spare wheel compartment, I also got a nice sagging roof

Check the rear passenger door opening close to the load bay side window for stress cracks.



Repair involves removing the (bonded in) load bay side window....

I found.
Rust, wheel arches tailgate and front and rear valances.

Bent wheels, air leaks around the engine.
