Hi I've spotted this 316i for sale on the internet and have emailed the bloke asking him what work needs doing to it. Replied saying:
Details from the last service:
Front metal brake pipe along chassis rusty. Rear shoes very low and Front brake pads will require changing in 2-3000 miles (these are now due). Brake lining wear light is also on.
I have owned the car since Mar 04, and it has been regularly serviced since (Apr 04 (BMW Specialist), Oct 04, Nov 05).
Its a 1990 316i with 139766 miles on the clock, and has tax and MOT till June is it worth Ԛ£100?
316i advice needed

Can't go far wrong at Ԛ£100, but don't expect too much either.
At that sort of price, things like the amount of petrol in the tank, the amount of road tax left and the tread on the tyres become a significant part of the value.
The brake line will be rusty at the back where it goes up around the subframe. I've replaced just this rear section a few times. Hardest part is getting at the tee piece hidden up behind the crossmember.
