What did you do to your E30 today?

fit GAZ rear coilovers and they are shit....cant use my 10j17 wheel anymore....and they are knocking all the time.
Drained around 40ltr of fuel from the tank by syphoning it out into a 5ltr container and then into a propper petrol container starting the syphone with a pug 405 diesel filter primer I nicked about 5 years ago fro a scrap yard.
I now have a head ache and feel sick.

finally pulled the m20 out of the touring. Plan for tomorrow will be to give the engine bay a quick tidy up, fit manual pedal box, e34 throttle cable + clutch pipe, then drop in the anchor!
Was a PITA getting out, bent part of my slam panel because of the power steering pump. The m20 felt heavier than my m30 maby because of the auto box. Cant wait until the m30s in and running

Stopped the boot from leaking = result.
Discovered that fix #1 to correct my errant idle did not work = fail.

bolted exhaust manifold to downpipe, bodged air intake pipe up with some yellow tape! still on the 2.0l intake with the 2.5 engine! tightened a few bolts and then sorted the water leaking in through the bulkhead (glovebox bolt was allowing water in) engine runs sweet as a nut now!
Took off all the calipers and carriers and took them away to be yellow passivated.

Ran injector cleaner through the engine in an attempt to correct the erratic idle....we shall see if cheapie fix attempt #2 works....
Took it for MOT & needed to deal with a couple of issues...
Bought & fitted a pair of front arb links,
Painted the brake calipers & back plates black,
Fitted the 17"Azevs, so the 15"BBS can get refurbed,
Ordered an alloy gearbox under guard,
Ordered an oem downpipe front section for the exhaust,
Booked in next week to have a custom stainless back box section made up & fitted.
Wash & waxed it then took it for a spin.

Fixed the sunroof. Again. Properly with new cables and lots of white grease. Works like a charm.
Attempted to remove rear spoiler for repainting, three of the four nuts unwound last one just rounded.... Thanks for doing that.... ho hum!

put my front number plate back on today as my 2 year old son decided it didn't suit the car and ripped it clean off!! only left the shed door open for 5 bloody minutes.

Fitted some new indicators, then gave it a "quick" oil and filter change. Then I tore up the roads of Leicestershire, scared some golfers and got it sideways a few times. Nice little prep for a track day next week!

Four new Falken ZE914s fitted in 205x55x15 guise. First impressions are good. Not as quiet as my winter Goodyears which must be the quietest tyre my E30 has ever sported but noise levels seem on a par with my old Vredesteins. Thankfully they've got a lot stiffer sidewall than the Goodyears. Combined with the new B4s and steering rack that were recently fitted the old barge is handling sweetly.
New exhaust back box will be next. The old one is looking on its last legs.

oh no, if it cheers you up a bit mate, today I fitted a newly painted sunroof panel and when i slid it back into the recess, it scratched all down the side and edge of the panel....luckily a bit of 1000grade wet and dry with some machine polishing took out 99% of it.
Hope you get your bonnet sorted.
Hope you get your bonnet sorted.
Had a test drive with the newly fitted e36 rack ..its a PAS rack but i have it as manual as my car is an early sport and had a manual rack to start with (probably the worst lock to lock rack known to mankind ) and its mainly a drag race project so weight saving is but cornering is not a big issue .
anyway fitted it to the rear set of holes (seems to be two sets of holes to mount the rack too ) with the spacers on the top side and kept the e36 arms etc on the rack and TBH it feels bloody horrible as soon as you turn one way or the other it seems to fight to want to turn full lock that way .. i hope just getting the tracking will sort it ...if not more bloody work
