i did a stich in one myself but it took hours and although its looks "ok" its far from perfect.
On the plus side it only cost me 14 quid for some clear PVC from a company that does caravan awrnings

a good used roof will be about £250-£400 unless you can find a bargain. but you may as well spend about £600 and have a brand new roof fitted to your existing frame
