Otto models are metal, only thing is nothing can be opened and the wheels can't steer.
Other than that the details are good for the price you pay. Paint has a good finish and the interior is nicely detailed.

The 2 door will be arriving in about two weeks and words are that it will also be available in black later this year.

Edit: I see the 325is allready has been sold out. Good thing I ordered 2 :)

For some reason I thought they were resin. :?

I only ordered one! I am not surprised it is sold out.

Incidentally, I notice in the photo above an E39 M5 in Silverstone Blue. Is this going to be a new release later in the year? (I know the Le Mans blue variant is NLA and very difficult to get hold of (unlike the E30 M3 cabrio/rally car and E36 M3 GT which can still be obtained new on ebay/various retailers)).

There are a few more models in that picture that aren't available yet.

This will be available this summer.

Nice, that E34 M5 looks great! E39 M5 in Silverstone looks epic too (I note it's very difficult to get hold of the Le Mans blue Otto E39 M5). Will have to pre-order both when they are available!

That's the one I was mentioning above. Looks like it'll be decent.

How do you rate the quality of the M3 cabrio? How do the resin models compare to the diecast metal equivalents?
Which E30 is this ?
Who made the E30 and E39 ? What scale are these ?

They are both 1/18 scale models made by Otto Mobiles. The E30 is a 325i. The E39 M5 hasn't been released yet.

That's expensive! I payed 44,- euro. And with shipping 55,-.

Surely there must be cheaper ones on eBay.

Oh, sorry I didn't realise. They are still cheaper than the autoart or minichamps 1/18 though. Probably reflected in the detail?

The biggest difference is the Otto models are a Solid shell no opening parts but for things like the e30 saloon or the e34 that's coming out no one else had done them in 1:18 scale

None cheaper on ebay, and NLA from Otto Direct. I suspect prices will only go up just like with the E39 M5 (frequently go >£100) if demand is high.

Detail is very good, however as mentioned these are resin models sealed with no opening parts.

I await the E34 and E39 M5 with earnest. 8)

A couple of additions/changes to the collection in Colchester:

- E46 M3 GTR in Racing Livery (Minichamps)
- E30 325iS (Otto Mobile)
- McLaren F1 GTR (UT Models)

As well as these, I managed to locate some retro BMW posters in A3 size for background. Think they look good. [/fanboi]

Tempted to display the M1 like this!

The new display cabinets have been assembled at my gf's flat (very understanding girl!) and will get some pics of those next time I'm there (James Bond Z8, 507, M5 & M6, M Roadster & Coupe + others!).

I've also spent a fair amount of time last weekend with some Meguiar's Stage 2 polish and Gold Class wax. Suffice to say, the models look very shiny [/geek]

Regarding the new E30 model by Otto Mobile - very decent quality and highly recommended. NLA from Otto themselves but plenty on ebay (watch for inflated prices). A worthy addition to any collection.

Better get the spare wheel out as it seems that you have flat tyre, that is authentic though :D
:D Actually, that's some selotape I've rolled up and put there to stop the car rolling forwards (somewhat precariously balanced!) I've been meaning to replace that with Blu-Tack.

Seriously though, it's a very very nicely detailed model and recommended for any E30 enthusiast.
