Not exactly the same thing, but i did see a diagram for the e46 strut setup the other day and thought it looked remarkably simple, and must be a proven strong enough desight otherwise bmw wouldnt use it on millions of vehicles, it just doesnt look as strong as the e36 method where there are two bolts into the back of the hub and a pinch nut and bolt at 90 degrees too.

A nice neat solution, although like they say in the s14 thread, just needs someone to start making billet knuckles too. not so bad on 'normal' e30s i guess as there are still plenty of second hand struts floating about, but m3 struts are like hens teeth, and usually as expensive too!
cheers,

Not horrendous, given that I priced up brand new struts from the stealers today, £412+VAT EACH!!!

Starting bid $99 but says $549 in the advert? Think these are safe/good enough or just a bad idea?

They will be fine IF properly made from the right materials and properly fitted.

however, as it looks like thyre from taiwan i'd be a little dubious.

e46 uses a one bolt strut to hub fixing,

as does the e90

It answers a question nobody is asking: there's a) nothing wrong with the E30 set up and b)there are plenty of upgrades from coil overzz to Bilstein stuff.

I'm confused too - why do you want an E46 strut on an E30 in the first place?
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap :)

Whats the point when theres plenty of shocks available for E30's. Plus E46 damping rates are different to E30's.
