Hi there this is the first time I've been on here. I am desperately looking for a E30 325i sport manual two door. Preferably black or grey and must be 100% rust free. I have looked at loads and all rotten. As soon as a good one comes on the market it sells instantly! I am not a dealer or trying to get something for nothing. I'm a 37 year old man who used to own one of these in my 20s I have had loads of bm's since but none of them have excited me as much as my old e30! So that is why I have decided to clear the garage out of all the old kids toys and other miscellaneous stuff that we never actually use and give a good sport a good home if anyone can help me with my addiction/problem or if you know of one that needs re-homing please send me a message thank you and I hope to get a response soon. PS I would consider one with multi valve engine

theres probably no such "100% rust free" sports for sale anywhere, if there was it would of been spotted and put on here, not seen any such cars on here for a while

how much are you wanting to/thinking of paying ?

I would pay around £5000 for the right car. Maybe more if it is love at first sight

All Sports were 2-door. Just to clarify, the 325i and 325i Sport share the same engine - the real difference was in the gearbox and diff (Sports should have an LSD). However, after 25 years there's no way of knowing if a Sport still has those same bits these days.

Any E30 is priced for its shell rather than its mechanicals. A rot-free 325i can be as good as a Sport for a lot less money, so if you can't find the car of dreams, consider broadening your search a bit for a 325i SE or even just a well-specced "standard" 325i.

They're all multi-valve. 6-cylinder engines don't work too well with only one valve. If you're talking about a 24V conversion then there are some really nice cars out there that aren't wearing a "325i Sport" badge and they can give you more car for the money if you find the right one. Look for cars that specify an M50 or M52 conversion.

For info, check out the Wiki, especially the Buying Guide;

100% rust free
I would take an educated guess that there are less than 50 such cars in the UK of which half will never come on the market. All the "mint" sports i know about are insruance valued at over £10k which should buy you a good usable example.

I think the car your looking for/expecting is more like a WLN/4star classics example for another few grand on top if your 5 and should do a bit of research on here, check the photo gallery section at meatballs car, 4 grand and a fair bit of work needed

LOL @ the pronto replies of look for an se instead :D ,every time

You're such a joker, their cars are just regular ones with a massive markup. I'd not be at all surprised if loads of them were rotten. :D

Because it's good advice. Of course, if the guy wants to spend a thousand pounds on each of the five extra letters on the log book, he's free to do so.

whys this same rubbish always get said ?

Sport interior, poss leather
Mtech gear knob and wheel
Black head lining
Close ratio box
LSD
Sport kit and spoiler
Bilstein and n tech suspension
Map light mirror

All makes a sport a very different and nicer car over an se model and would cost maybe 2- 3k to retro fit it all on to an se model anyway inc things like paint fluids and labour

I have all the above polsta and mine ain't a sport! You don't need a sport IMO. Half the battle is getting a decent shell. Which is the main thing

Best to get a good 325 she'll then add on bits if you want to, but a good shell is well worth the investment. If only I listened to my own advice sometimes :D

No one says you need a sport, yours may have that and more , how much has it all cost to build and what is the cars total cost to you ??..but it's not like every se has that is it or its easy to find an se like that at all, a clean shell is the most important but all i said to spec up any 325i with all them bits that hasn't got them could potentially be well over a couple of grand

I'd take a rust free 325i SE over a sport and customize it to my own liking any day... sports are very nice but I don't feel they command the extra premium over a good 325i SE.

so if you have a factory standard se, and a factory standard sport, both same year, same color, same milage same lovely condition througout and rust free shells, youd say the sport wouldnt be worth a premium over the se ? even tho it had a couple of grands worth of extra bits on it and was a different car to drive and a better drive ? (with regards to the box, lsd, and suspension)

the "i want a nice sport" question that gets asked a lot on here by new members, but always gets told buy an se and spec it up , doed anyone not think that some people just want a sport because thats what they actualy want and do not have the time and desire of buying car to then have to be looking for and buying and fitting a new interior, suspennsion, and various other parts, not everyone are entheusiasts in that way or want that sort of hasstle

the OP had one in his 20s and has bms and wants another e30 and wants a black or grey good condition sport, hes not asking what e30 should he buy !!! im sure if he knows e30s and had one, he wants a sport coz thats what he actualy wants !!!

I agree but for the price of a rotten sport you could get a very very nice 325i SE. Which is part of my point.!

well then !! but hes not wanting a rotten sport hes wanting to pay decent money for a decent one and asking if anyone can help, which all the "buy an se" comments, are probably of no use

what alwys gets me with it, where are all these very nice/clean non rotten 2 door 325i se models for a lot less than sport money ? or ones with sport like spec ? , they are as mythical as a rust free sport (in terms of for sale not whats owned by zoners) , and a nice rust free one would be 3k or a sport like specced one 4k if rust free, going by the 1 or 2 rotten 2k+ priced se`s that have been for sale recently, like the one jimbo weighed up, before then buying a rotten sport instead

in fact jimbos case is a good one- he spent time looking for a nice solid 325i, couldnt find one, and bought a rotten sport to fix up, goes to show its nice easy to just buy a rust free 325i these days

any nice rust free 2 door 325i is hard to find and aquire these days no matter what the model or spec and se are not excluded from rot issues

All e30s have the brown shite hiding somewhere. Ideally you wanna get hold of a sport that has had a resto with pics and docs to back it up. You don't want to spend 4/5k on a sport and find yourself putting in the bodyshop cutting out arches and scuttles etc. I'm not a sport hater by the way. I love em

If you want a sport then go buy a sport. Ignore the penniless masses telling you otherwise :D

At the end of the day it will always command a prenium over a non sport, just make sure you buy a solid one
