I have heard of people combining M10/S14 parts and turbocharging it but I don't think anyone with an M88 head will actually lop off 2 cylinders, block off coolant passages, etc. to build their own S14. Besides, one would probably have a better chance of finding genuine S14 parts with all of the engine swaps people are doing.

s14 and m10 blocks are very similar but not the same, s14 has an extra oil drain at the back, so if you tried to fit an s14 head on an m10 it would leak oil all over the place, i've had the same issue in reverse when using an m10 head on an s14 block and had to plug the hole in the block.
the really big difference is that s14 bores are Siamesed, in otherwords there is no coolant passage between the cylinders, this allows an s14 block to be bored much bigger to almost 96mm, an m10 block is on its limit at 92mm

There are many more differences than that!
