Hi all i thought that it would be interesting if people talked about there lost loves( not the women)
mine was a 1991 black 325is my frist BMW project, i had it for only 2 weeks and converted it to a manual gearbox and new wheels. Then in a rain storm a big SUV rear ended me and totaled my baby. the next was a 535i that blew up now im back to the e30 and loving it.

ok here we go.
nissan almera gti had it 3 months and got rear ended whilste waiting to turn right by some spaz on the phone.
impact speed of about 50 my very sexy lady friend was off work for 2 years with neck problems.
i got another almera gti lots of one off custom bits, had it 4 months. was driving home late enjoying the empty roads and wham hit a deer. both car a deer killed.
then i got the car i'd wanted for ages sex silver 325i sport totally mint and original.had it 3 months, head gasket went. when it was at the garage with no engine a women pulled out from a junction clipped the back off a passing car which fish tailed then T boned my baby killing her.So instead of getting a call saying your car is finished i got one saying my car is dead. A-frame pushed in floor bent wheel bent a very sad day.
but she is all staight now and sexy silver again should be back on the road next year.
so now i'm driving a e34 525ix se tourer. have to say i love the 4x4ness.
i still miss my sport though.

mine was a 1985 celica that had Ԛ£28000 spent on a complete restoration including a complete body from cills to sunroof bought from toyota main dealer and was shipped across from japan. it was also my first cosworth conversion with the engine being rebuilt and fitted and upgraded for the best part of 10 grand. it was a stripped out racer with only 2 bucket seats ,4 point harnesses and the full tank and pumps specially made and fitted inside the car behind the seats but with a plumbed in fire system just in case. it had 18" compomotive mo's with uprated supra brakes and lsd.the interior was totally stipped with no carpets ,stereo, panelling etc. even the electric windows where binned in favour of winders to save weight! it was in REDLINE and RETRO CARS first edition in readers rides. took me 8 years to build and about 30 seconds to right off in a race with a motor bike. lost the back end at 90 spinning and bouncing of the central reservation 3 times before rear ending into a big lamp post resulting in a 2 foot 'v' in the back of the car. my seat was ripped out the floor with the impact and had to be pulled out as the petrol tank behind me had split.the cosworth engine lived to race another day and is the one thats in my touring now.fully comp with everything declared meant i got a decent payout as well. no charges either as the biker fcuked off so there was no witnesses...and have i learned my lesson...have i fcuk
my housemate lost his most loved car last night! he was driving along a nice straight road past a few parked cars... when one car decided to pull out with no indication and start a U-turn, about 5-10 meters infront of him, absolutly nothing he could do but his the car. His beloved Audi Coupe Quattro destroyed.. the idiot who pulled out in a Rover however had his car nearly torn in half by a 30mph Quattro!
This is the quattro...

and the stupid worthless piece of crap this caused the accident. The roof had buckled jsut enough to case the drivers door to jam, but you cant see the buckle on the picture.. just the rear suspensioN!

Makes me sick, the guy in the Rover couldn't care less that he had jsut written off a classic 2.2 Quattro - it was a wickedly fast car and in such good condition!!! He didnt even come over to talk to my housemate Alex or to check if he was ok!

hi pacerpete, sounds a lot but that was over 8 years and the biggest single expense was the engine that i still have. i still have the box file with every receipt and magazine cuttings, it was in 7 or 8 different times.it was a unique car. when i start a project i dont give up until its done
and to your question of why...why not?

Going round the roundabout i was following in my 328, only doing about 20-30, the arse end slide out on the greasy roundabout and cause he'd never had the arse out before, he over compensated with opposite lock, so when it came back went to far and the front end went into a railing and caused the car to roll over. Was one of the slowest crashes i'd ever seen.
My first car and love was a British racing Green Rover 218d TURBO! It was awesome, my grannie gave it to me when she was getting rid. Iput 15" cross spokes on it and a bid spoiler. The ultimate Q-car!1
It had a vicious turbo, so you'd be queitly minding your own business and then BAAMMM, Torque steer all over the place. Slowest car ive ever had, but so many memories.
Drove it of a 10" Cliff up in the Devon Moors. She just quietly Aquaplaned off acrooss the road in front of a coach off the cliff edge and into a boulder! Noone was hurt, but the beast was about a foot shorter!
RIP Little Rover (aka 'The Badmobile

mine was my last car, a 1983 Escort RS1600i, only about 860 made in the uk, 230 in my colour caspian blue, probably only about 50 left now!
some stupid cow in a new landrover freelander didn't understand the concept of 'giving way' at a mini roundabout, or even stopping when someone was halfway over it!
Front of the car was crumpled and pulled over to one side but coz the car was so solid (especially for a 22 year old ford) nothing else moved.
Unfortunatly i'm skint and it would have cost me more than the car was worth to fix

Mine, although not in a E30, got me into them. On the way to work along the old A5 between Telford & Shrewsbury, on a nice long straight section of the road,a good 3-4 miles, i had stopped to make a right turn, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, when an idiot in a rover 420 decided to use my car (Cavalier 2.0i 16v GLS) as his brakes, He smacked into the rear end of my stationary car at an estimated 75Mph. I've never seen a cav fold that way before !
Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

all of your mis fortune makes me feel a little better about my loss
Never lost my E30 but my E36 departed in a very sad way.
Driving along minding my own business when a stupid bint driving a fucked Astra lost control just before a right hander on a motorway sliproad. She had been travelling about 80, paniced and braked too sharp, with fucked shocks the weight transferred to the front end and her back end got light, she lost it big time and hit my o/s/r.
I proceeded to go sideways at 70, then the E36 gripped and sent me the other way. Thats where the fun started - the car then careered off the sliproad, the front hit the start of a roadside barrier, this catapulted the car 15 feet clean in the air dukes of hazard stylee.
Once airbourne we crashed through a 3 post motorway sign and missed a motorway light post by a 2 feet max! Have yo seen the diameter of one of those posts up close?? Huge, i very nearly soiled myself.
The car rotated, crashing on its roof and came to a halt upside down in a bog.
I suffered extreme lacerations akin to someone taking a potato peeler to my head where the windscreen came, i dislocated my shoulder and bruised ribs. Luckily my fiance Jill got away wish whiplash.
I loved that car so much but at least i can be thankful it saved our lives!
Heres the remains sitting in my father's workshop. All his customers couldn't believe i survived and thought my dad was being weird and hanging onto the car his son had died in!

this was the condition it was in just before it had eibachs, bilsteins, new michelin pilots, new OEM exhaust, and Nakamichi/Focal/Audison ice install

its bad enough righting off your motor if its yor own fault or stupidity, but when its someone elses fault its a nightmare. you could be the best driver in the world but theres no accounting for someone elses stupidity
