Hey all,
Anyone ever fitted any airhorns to thier e30? I have a pair of used Stebel Nautilius 139 Db horns, and I'm considering fitting them. The yanks love them but I think they may be over kill for UK roads.

I've tested them on my battery and they are ear splittingly loud.!

What do you all think?

If you use them on a public road you risk getting a tug from the boys in blue..your call.

How come? Is there a noise limit or something?

I know motorcycle shops sell 140db airhorns for bikes. And my brother has no problem getting his lorry through the ministry tests with 2 of them fitted.

Why would you get pulled by the plod for an airhorn??? maybe if there playing dixie but doubt a standard air horn would even make the plod stop eating his do-nut! :D

if they get pissy about ur exhaust being a bit loud i dont think theyr gunna approve of an ear shattering horn that makes everyone within a mile radius lose bladder control

I just thought it might be funny for trolling people and that... but now that I think of it I have a convertible, so they might just lean in and clout me.. lol

Meh I'll leave them off I think..

Anyone want a pair of Stebel Nautilius 140db air horns and relays??

Drove it home, got tools out, took em off.

I always liked the idea of it as an additional horn, mainly for those types of predestrians that deliberately take their time crossing in front of you. But now I'm sailing into my thirties, the ideas worn thin..

Check out the part about road traffic regs. Two tone horns are a no no apparently.

I have a triple air horn on the touring, great fun when the compresser sticks and I just get a two tone blast....
And a 'vintage' type klaxton on the cabbie that always gets a smile and a laugh!
