I've just bought a lovely M Tech 1 steering wheel for my E30, to replace standard 4 spoke.

It doesn't seem to sit properly though. Should the spacer stay in ? The splines are the same (fine).

Anyone done this ? I have searched online but can only find US sites where people swapped out the airbag wheel !

cheers

No airbag. Steering lock is off...the old wheel pulled off easily. There was a spacer on the shaft, about 1/2 inch.

The mtech wheel just doesn't seem to engage on the splines.

Yes you will need the collar, but don't know enough to advise on whether a different model wheel is what you have instead of an E30 one?
