Evening all,

Long (long long) time, no speak.
Just thought I'd pop a post up to say thanks to all that have made my E30 ownership a true pleasure.

Just over six years ago I was sat in front of a computer with a bit of depression after my mum passed away, scouring eBay for something to keep me busy and have a bit of fun with. My very good mate Ryan (low325icab on here I think?) had a black cab that I loved the sound of so I started looking for E30's. Found one locally and ended up buying my first and only E30 I have owned.

Had loads of ups and downs with the car and scene over the years, More ups than anything. I've met people that will be life long friends (Dan320is, Daryl, Iain Hamilton) and people that wanted to kill me (Kos :P) that I have long since buried the hatchet with.

I was very proud to be asked to join the admin team at one Ace café meet and took the role seriously, this was where I become hated  but carried on and then was asked at Santa pod to join the admin team. That was a massively proud day for this funny looking swine from the sticks, I won a trophy (which I still have) for mod of the year and got "promoted" all in the space of five minutes!

The next couple of years were fantastic, Doing loads of meets, making friends and enemies in equal amounts and most of all just loving the community that I was so heavily involved in.

That then brings us to a couple of years ago when my dad had a very severe heart attack, I simply didn't have the time to do my duties so I stood down from the team. I lost interest in the car and it sat in the garage for nine months unused.

Roll onto spring last year, I was at BBB chatting to the lovely gents there and discussed bringing the car out of it's den and as luck would have it I made a bit of extra cash that allowed me to do a bit of work on the car. She was treated to: Cambelt, Water pump, Subframe bushes, Little welding job, MOT and bingo it was back. A couple of weeks later I noticed the clutch felt odd so after a discussion with BBB again we tried master & slave cylinders but the clutch needed replacing.

Sadly after all that work and my pennies being put into it, I can not find the passion I used to have for the car. Life moves so quickly and I have decided it's time to sell up. My plate has now been moved to my bland focus estate.

I would like to say thanks to some people that have made it a fantastic time.

Mainly from the team, Steve and Iain. I always had your support and am utterly grateful for the chance to do what I did. Couldn't think of two nicer guys to work with. The whole team are great, I miss those days. :(

From the early days, Ant, Nelly, Weezie, Tylerma, Simon13, Stuartgallafant, E30aza and all the original lakeside lot.

Then the Ace bunch, Kos, B7, Jhonno, Pacerpete, Andyp. Many a night of us standing in the freezing cold chatting utter crap

A special thanks goes to Ant, I couldn't even tell you if he still uses the forum or remembers who I am  The man is a total legend and I'm very sad I have drifted apart as mates. Need to take a drive down to his unit to see if he is still there.
If you are reading this dude, Thanks. You have always made me feel at home at the unit and give me 110% with service and general support.

And finally thanks to the guys who I have spent most of my last meets with at BBB, Nathan, Richard and Andrew are true gents. Harry, Goose, Kerry, Tom, Dan & floppy Dan, You guys are such a laugh and I hope I will be welcome at future meets.

So thats all a bit soppy and emotional, I keep thinking of more names from over the years but you all know who you are and that I am grateful of all the help.

Oh and Brianmoore, I guess he was a little helpful too :P

It's been a blast people, The best years of car ownership I will ever have.

I hope to still get along to pod this year for a looksie, May bump into a few faces I recognise then.

Thanks for reading.

Haha No, Really not selling to buy a focus! I've always had a daily driver and that's just what I happen to have now.

Cheers guys, This forum makes it bloody hard to tolerate lesser forums. F*cking awesome!

Don't be hasty, Dave, I'm pretty sure Rosc0PColtrane is only making a flying visit. :)

Never actually got to meet you in person but you always came across as a decent Mod,
and someone who actually took some of our bad behaviour on here to heart.
That's not a pop , it's meant as a compliment to your involvement

You never know -we might change your mind

Good luck fella. Never met you or had any dealings with you but from reading various threads and posts I can tell you have garnered a degree of respect. And abuse :).

Regarding Ant, he doesn't post much and from what I can gather has moved on from his old unit. The last post of his I remember reading seemed to suggest he was no longer working on BMWs . :?

My Dave,

Remember that night we were cuddled on the sofa nuzzling each others fluff on the backs of our necks? You said I'd regret selling my E30 to fund my my world tour with the Mexican midget circus and by Jov you were right. Here I am, back on the Zone looking for a rusty skip I can bolt shiny bits, big wheels and that visor sticker "Daryll & Dave" on to.

Don't do it mate, at least give it the summer to reconsider. Soon enough we'll be able to play hide the sausage again at the BBB BBQ's near the B&B next to B&Q, you'll be able to direct me to the furthest car park at Santa Pod and even overcharge me for numberplates you've made despite them being mis-spelt.

I miss you, your Rooney look and one leg shorter than the other. Hang around until the next BBB event, we'll sit down and have a chat over a lambrini and one of Richard's Bacteria burgers and see what happens. If it's still a no no then furry muff, we'll teabag one another for old times sakes and part company.

Your Daryll.
