dont !!!

get it all clean, detailed, fully serviced and everything running right etc, and get to know the car 1st, read and look and talk on here a lot, then youl start to get a feel for the car and e30s

then start to make the right mods...you can mod n is a lot from standard , without making "customisations" as such

suspension, quick shift, 370ml tech 2 steering, rear hed rests, rear blind shelf, 15" bbs, getting the tool kit and boot stuff complete etc, theres lots you can do to keep oem but improive the car, also replacing old rusted fittings n screws underneath etc , get it all undersealed properly and all that sort of thing too, to protect your investment and keep weather at bay helps a lot

heres my is, have a look and comment

A few subtle modifications on a 318is will improve the drivability to the point that you will be hooked

1. Z3/e46 steering rack
2. Decent springs and shocks and change bushes accordingly
3. The 318is responds very well to a chip, mine improved loads. Evolve chip did it for me

theres more mods that are also good, like lightened flywheel but the above will cost you about £500 all in and be very worth while

Short shift kit, you want a Z3 1.9 changer. Cheap even from the stealers.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

im pondering weather to engine swap or turbo even, mine and long term keep it and use my escort as a daily/run around, or to sell it and buy a sport , or to sell my escort and buy a sport and use the is as a daily and have 2 e30s , although i do hanker for a nice silver tech 1

Its about 8k

Good investment, I think it will hold at 8k and would increase to maybe 10k max

8k sounds reasonable for what it is, deserves to be in a nice heated garage and driven sparingly and made to a truly concourse condition, out of my league and i want a nice useable sport to drive and enjoy, id not want to clock up miles if i owned one like that
