Im sure this has been addressed many time before.
however my rack is pissin fluid from the pinion seal, so need to change rack or recon.
should i fit 36 rack? or stick to 30 rack?
Dont wanna start chopping my car around so if thats what it takes then i will stick to the 30 rack..

Very worthwhile mod.
No chopping is needed, you just need to buy spacers and the conversion pipes (which can be had off here. You don't need the pipes as you can just bend the originals but it makes life easier.

E30 Rack = 4.1 turns lock to lock
E36 Rack = 3.2 turns lock to lock
I've done one conversion on my old 2 door, and it transforms the car's feel, much more direct. As for the conversion pipes, i know someone's done a set for this in the parts for sale but can't remember who!
