Looks far too good to break IMO - there's a lot worse out there ( including my sh1tter ) scraping from one MOT to the next !
Save it you know you want to !

A couple of hundred quid in welding for a tidy solid 2 door shell. It's a no brainer.
It will be worth it's weight in... In no time.

Decisions made. Signing it over to Simeon.
All I ask is that he starts another thread. Will help to sell the car in the end as it will be done properly this car. Show the prospective buyer he ain't buying no bogged up turd.

minty, all the nuts were still goldy in the bay, the header tank is whitey like new, the brake servo with no rust. The steering rack fell out
Also bodywork wise bar having an E36 sat on top which had popped the front screen it had solid scuttle and floors pans, bootlid with no spoiler! Some donkey took the OBC unit/screen but left the rest. Missed the shagging blind. Mint 45mm struts, damaged dash

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

From reading this thread, i am just so glad i bought my late 325i coupe earlier this year. 2 owners from new, no rust at all apart from the rear towing eye and reams of history. And only £1200 too!
Had it professionally resprayed, and it looks immaculate. Just waiting for my 15" bbs's to come back from the refurb company to replace the (mint) 14" bbs's and i will be one happy man

It seemed a very daft thing to do at the time. What on earth possessed you?bss325i wrote:I feel guilty for fragging this 2 years ago!
325iSE auto, bronzit with heated brown cloth. Ice cold A/C, 15" BBS and an iS front spoiler.
A non sunroof shell with a few scabs on the rear arches but that was it rot wise. 120k and FSH.
It was a gem!

you got to save these BMW E30s especially the 325i models and 325i Sport models. They are going to be extinct or really rare which yes will start to push up prices but its a shame to send any E30 especially good ones to the heaven.

I like this thread

I travelled a 275mile round trip to look at a early chromie this week for £450, that was described as solid and good, other than needing a 2inch hole in the sill sorted and a bubble on the wheel arch..
Got there, and couldn't believe my eyes..bubble in arch, what arch...told me jacking points were solid, I put my fist through the floor..
The only things sellable were the seats and bumpers...
The place was like a scrapyard, nice mercs and stuff just sat there rotting away!
stopped off at Bridges scrapyard on the way back, and got a windscreen out of an F reg, and its condition was a 100 times better!
too many being fragged, and/or being left to rot..Its a shame, but can only make the good ones go up in value

Its not the sports I'm worried about, most seem to get saved these days. Its the normal 325i's especially the pre-facelifts.pony wrote:you got to save these BMW E30s especially the 325i models and 325i Sport models. At the time (3 years ago) there were still plenty of 2dr 325i's about and my thoughts were that who would want a gold with brown cloth auto 325i? It was dirt cheap and fragged to good money.Andyboy wrote:It seemed a very daft thing to do at the time. What on earth possessed you?bss325i wrote:I feel guilty for fragging this 2 years ago!

If it were now then things would be different.
Give it a couple more years I think there will be just tourings and cabs left as "readily available" Makes me glad I have both a facelift and pre facelift 2 dr cars but even though they need a bit of work it would be nice to think that in say 5 years they will follow the mk 2 escort and hold ridiculous money ?
Any thoughts on that, because the E30 is so much better than the mk2/mk1 escort IMO but I know the fords have their following for good reason (rally pedigree etc)
We may all be sitting on some nice investments, once the remaining rotten turds are on the shelves of Tesco as toasters/kettles

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
