am thinking about heading down to york dragstrip non sunday in the e30 and might have a go at run what ya brung.
never done anything like this before
just wondered what sort of times e30 325s do?
mine is stripped out ,quickshift,exhaust, filter and just fitted one of those wild chips off here. doesnt have a lsd though and iam not to sure what ratio the diff is.
am i right in thinking mid 15s would be a good time or am i being to optimistic?

Baz, I'd say if you are stripped out and she's healthy and you can get it off the line tidy then it will do mid/ low 15's
engine is really healthy. just fitted one of them wild chips off here and makes quite a difference! bit more top end but so much more responsive! best £35 ive spent.
got a strange knock coming from the back end when i launch it so going to try and find out what the problem is tommorrow. also need to make my battery secure somehow as i dont think it being wedged in with wood will look good for scrutineering!

Check the exhaust hangers and the rear shocker top mounts as these are the two main culprets for clunks from the rear end when launching. If either are on the way out, its not the end of the world/no racing, but at least you will be able to get them out of the way before it becomes an MOT failure.bazpro wrote: got a strange knock coming from the back end when i launch it so going to try and find out what the problem is tommorrow.

They may not check if its in the boot, but if its still under the bonnet then Andy (most likely to be scrutineering) will reject you straight away. When I first turned up there with the Chromie last year, I'd forgotten to secure the battery and he spotted it. He went into the scrutineering hut and snapped the end off a brush handle and jammed it in between the strut turret and battery and issued a pass ticket

He, yeah, that's him. He's a real nice lad too, good lad to know he is often down in a porsche 911 GT3 or Aston of some sort that he is repairing. Do you know of the white 911 GT3 that is often down at York on the RWYB. He repaired that after it had been over 3 times on its roof!
I should be down on Saturday night but not until later on as I am at work and am the responsible (no sniggering at the back) person on site so I have to lock up etc so I'll not be finished and on the road until half 6 and its a good 2 hour (at least) drive down to the strip for me. So yes I will be there, but unless you wander over I may not see you untill 10 or 11 in the bar dude.

And for reference, not sure who the 1st from right is, but 2nd is CJ (or Christopher Murty, the new Promoter/old Promoters son and a thoroughly nice lad), 3rd from the right is Andy Leigh, and is a good lad, plus is the best lad to contact about VW 20v Turbo related issues/conversions. And then there is Andy Outhwaite, who I mentioned above.

check your diff bolts,i've recently cured a bad rear end clunk [not my car].
basically the diff only had x2 front bolts left holding it in place and one of these was on the last threads before the bolt had no function and the other was about half way loose.as for the top x2 bolts well they were just A.W.O.L.....
