Get out of a speeding ticket and 3 points?

Ok - i thought id give a quick update on my situation.. in a nuthshell- i have recieved 4 notices for the same stretch of motorway when the speedlimit was dropped from 50 to 40 for roadworks. All notices bar 1 had been sent to me outside the 14 notice period.

The first notice has given me the speed awareness option - which i will go ahead and do. The others i contested on the grounds of neccesity and that the notices had not ben sent to me within the 14 day period....

They have come back saying they needed to make smor emore enquiries re the reg keeper as for some reason, DVLA dont have my details. They apparantly traced me via insurance cover.

Checked with DVLA and they say they did not recieve the transfer of ownership (from the BMW dealer i might add) - so they may have a defence here....Its funny how the other notices only came through ONLY when i replied to the first one...

The other 3 notices only say on one of them that i can attend a course but i am already attending one for the very the first notice i got..

I was also told that i could do one course for both offences by the awareness course people but the now been told by the notice people that you cant do this..

Looks like im going to run the other 3 to court then and see what happens -

normally within 10mph of the limit you can attend a speed awareness course but you can only attend one every 3 years. You still have to pay the fine but the course in lieu of the points. I have atteneded a speed awareness course a few years ago now and its normally at the most inconvenient time and place. if you don't show, its normally more points and another fine.

i would opt for the course if you don't mind when and where it is, otherwise safest option is points and a fine, you have to pay the fine anyway and 3points make next to no difference anyway.
