Agree completely, here. Have recently added a Touring to the fleet, as baby seats and 2 door E30s are not my idea of fun.datourer wrote: An E30 would make a perfectly good family car, age doesn't come in to it. I'd avoid a 2 door though if you have kids, even though most people seem to think they're better for some reason. I'm 43 too, perfect age...
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is
e30's are wasted on the young you need to own lots of other shit before appreciating them, and when you are young you want to change cars every five minutes which is silly with e30's now as they need lots of money invested in them which only makes sense for longterm ownership.

I had my 318i at 22 , my 320i at 24 , my 325i at 28 and then my C2 at 28 also. I apreiated my 318 just as much as my C2 now at the age of 30.
Age has nothing to do with how much you are or are not going to apreiate and respect a car.

I found that by the time my kids had legroom issues they didn't want to go out with me and the wife . But now my son has an E30 he and his girl friend do come out on day trips using both of our cars which is even better .
there are plenty of young owners on here who appriecate them. I've spent £5.5k on a £600 car in the past 13 months or so on mine. If thats not appreciation/insanity i dont know what ispnd wrote:e30's are wasted on the young you need to own lots of other shit before appreciating them, and when you are young you want to change cars every five minutes which is silly with e30's now as they need lots of money invested in them which only makes sense for longterm ownership.

Yeah but you were born Old, Dan.
Sort of know what pnd is saying, i did,nt get into e30,s till
much later in life than you. Used to change whatever car i had
every 6 months or so. Then i got my Cab and things changed
and the car is now sort of part of me, and not in a Penile
extension kind of way.
In fact, whenever i think about a change, as you do, it,s my Mrs
and Daughters who talk me out of it.

Nothing wrong in being old and an E30 owner,I'll be 60 in a few weeks
Youth is wasted on the young.

I'm 26 and have a tech 1 sport and an e34 535i (engine and box will be in the e30 just after xmas).
I must admit I recently thought about getting an s14 200sx but got talked out of it. Best choice i'v ever made!
I agree, being young doesnt mean you dont appreciate an e30 but on the same note i'll have an e30 till I die!

My wife actually convinced me not to get a 4 door, as with a 2 door you can get the kids in, and have easier more space to belt them in with the seat forward, as you dont have the extra door pillar in the waydatourer wrote:I'd avoid a 2 door though if you have kids, even though most people seem to think they're better for some reason. the only time it struggles as a family car is when you need to put the back seats down - as you can't!
in 22 and i`m at my first e30. It doesn't matter how old you are....... an E30 will always reveal the teenager in you!

I`m 50 in 3 weeks time(
), and i`m on my 7th e30. It all started with an e21. Ive owned a lot of cars over the years. But believe me, i still have a smile on my face driving my 318i touring to work at 6 in the morning !
