Hi,
Been checking and adjusting the valves on my 325i today, it says in the manual to turn the crank clockwise to get set it to top dead centre, turned it anti clockwise a couple of times by mistake when setting up the valves, is that a problem??

never really a problem on most petrol engines, just be careful when you do it so you dont make the belt jump a tooth.
