I am buying an E30 cab, when checking the car, how can you tell the car is been converted from auto to manual? As I want to buy an original car. Also if people swap a 2.5 lump in to a 320, can you tell? I hope someone can give me some tips. Thank you very much!!

Give your chassis number to a BMW dealer or type the last 7 digits into the BMW VIN decoder on here...

Check the accel pedal to see if it has a kick down (an extra push when you press full throtal) most people do not take it of when they do the swop.
Just check the sticker in the engine bay and by the door or the paperwork from the past

on the vin plate above the right hand side headlight under the bonnet. it will have 325IA or 325I im sure it will have a C in it aswell with it being a convertibile but cant remember where. if it has the A it started life as an Auto theres no need to decode the vin number to find this out.
