The guy I have just bought my M3 leather interior and front legs from has one, he is going to race as well. He imported it from Portugal. He lives near Kings Lynn.
He also has two 2002s as well, one for rallying and one for the track.
And a great bloke too boot.

So they still won't budge on letting you use the 2.3 then?? They'll allow you to change the crank on a m20 to 2.7 and built up to over 220bhp, but not a crank change on a 320is... Seems unfair to me. (yeah I know, I should have asked before buying the engine
)
How come your moving over to TTRS?

I've got one and it's for sale, but to be honest it's too good to race. 12500 Euros. Car is in Germany.

That was Wayne Howlett. He had a garage in Dersingham, his business was called German Cars. He imported my 320is, and sourced quite a few interesting BMWs from Italy. Last saw him in 2006 and he was talking about moving abroad. No idea where he is now though.adamski80 wrote:the bloke you talk of, is he from dersingham near kings lynn? i remember a bloke who used to import e30`s etc from abroad and re sell here. i thought he moved abroad tho? how recent was this? be good to pop and see him as i live the other side of kings lynn.davpkav wrote:The guy I have just bought my M3 leather interior and front legs from has one, he is going to race as well. Thanks - a diplomatic response! Oh and did I mention that there is not a speck of rust on this car anywhere?d6dph wrote:Nice constructive input there, A 320is is possibly the rarest factory E30.
Don't mean to hijack this post - I'm happy to discuss my car on my post in the for sale section
Iv got one
as Barry said i bought it from a fellow zoner. Here's the numbers for the cars produced;
These are the model numbers;
AK95- Two door- Produced 03/88 til 11/90
AC95- Four door- Produced 09/87 til 07/90
2542 two doors produced
1206 four doors produced
These are the S14 engine, but with a shorter stroke. They were produced for the Italian and portugese market as there goverments taxed heaverly on cars over a 2litre.
The strokes are;
1990cc- 72.6mm
2302cc- 84mm

Vintage BMWs are an addiction.
I would kill for a 320IS. The true baby m3. Would love to have a four door. Barry, is that the one that was parked near where that m42 I bought off you was? That car was lush!

Here's a pic of one of paddy's 320iS' from the meet yesterday

The 320iS is a different breed of animal to the 320i.
Your 320i has a 2L 6cylinder where as the 320iS has a 4 cylinder 2L version of the M3's S14 engine.
