I think I got the weight wrong, they are just the wrong side of a Ton, but still lighter than a 325i.
I said a 172 was heavier than a 2dr 325i, not a 172 Cup which has no ABS, no A/C, alot less trim and alot less sound insulation.
A 2dr 325i is 1180kg
A Clio II 172 is 1090kg
A 90 kg difference
I also wrong about the weight as its the Clio III 197 which is heavier @ 1240kg.
I never said i have blow away any of the above, just beat them several times, they are a common choice among Croydon boy racers. Also, I have never said that a 325i is a fast car, just not a slow one.

I had a razz with a MK6 golf GTi with some little hairdressery chav ponce driving it and was stunned when there was nothing in it over about a mile of 'who has the biggest nuts'. I let him go at the first roundabout as we were in danger of being dangerous.
I was stunned because my car is 1200kg and 320bhp. NOT a slow E30! Those MK6 Golfs are quick. I heard his car had a (gay) dump valve so can only assume he'd had it re-mapped or something, but when you ally that power with modern car levels of traction and braking ability they are seriously fast. I have a feeling on a track I'd have been quicker (ie my nuts would have been bigger) as the E30 handles very well as well as having that absolute traction. Trouble is I built it to be a fast raod car, not a track weapon.
I still couldn't bring myself to buy something FWD despite how ridiculously quick those Focus RS's are!

Apology ? no i stand by what i said if you felt the need to comment then take what i reply to you on the chin!
Well done on all your hard work thats very nice, but are you gonna drive it proper?
It seems your blowing your own trumpet, boasting in fact hence the need to put the link up.
I drive my e30s the way i do cos i wanna inprove em as well but that wont happen if i tootle around at 30mph every where.
when you finnish your sport and i hope you do, drive the thing otherwise whats the point?

Either way, with it being lighter a better front area I don't see the 172 ever losing if the driver understands how to drive that car....
As you said, yours isn't standard, but with 12? brake more I doubt it would blow one away if the other chap isn't a mongloid.
One still looks a bit of a prat in a clio sport though, but 90% of normal people think that about old BMWs.

No no. I'm building a 300bhp E30 to drive it around nice and carefully. Granny shifting in every gear and seldom going above 30mph. Dithering about and generally holding up as many folk as I can in the process. Actually f*ck it, I as well might fit a tow-bar and get a caravan too; then spend the summer driving around the coast, maybe taking in the lake district if I have the time.FASTFREDDIE wrote:Well done on all your hard work thats very nice, but are you gonna drive it proper?

You seemed tho think that because I didn't agree with your pathetic attempt to try and prove how you got one over on this guy who was driving a car which was much more capable than yours. That you could imply that I was some sort of nancy who polishes his E30 and doesn't drive it. Pretty much in keeping with the theme of the thread that you've started...
So I proved you wrong.
I'm sensing some sort of inferiority complex here....!

If you really want to annoy and embarrass the chavs/boy racers, this is the way to do it. There can be few things more humiliating for them in front of their mates than to be outdragged by a car/caravan combo up a hill when they pull out to overtake it.da4x4turbo wrote: No no. There are a series of uphill sections with an overtaking lane, following single lane downhill sections on the last thirty miles before I get home, and I have great fun dropping down a couple of gears and giving it foot to the floorboards up these sections. They tend to get up level with me, before ever so, ever so slowly (at first) dropping back, so I give them a wave, and let BMW straight six power show its worth.

If you really want to embarrass chavs/boyracers then just watch them flying off towards the horizon as you calmly pull away. They'll look pretty stupid racing themselves. Plus if you do decide to race then that makes you a boy racer too and therefore subject to your own derision. Impetuous kids race, cool dudes cruise.Brianmoooore wrote:If you really want to annoy and embarrass the chavs/boy racers, this is the way to do it. Ignore this guy FASTFREDDIE, what he's building is a rep as an annoying self-promoting chump who has no idea how to enter an argument in the correct spirit of it.da4x4turbo wrote:o no. I'm building a 300bhp E30 to drive it ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz zzzz
+1. I love revving and giving it the biggun with all kinds of chavs and gangstas at lights etc and then watching them fly off into the distance like deluded fools. Obviously if I wanted to I could CRUSH them with a mere relaxation of my right foot but I fear my iS would tear a hole in the fabric of space/time if I indulged in too much of this nonsense.datourer wrote:If you really want to embarrass chavs/boyracers then just watch them flying off towards the horizon as you calmly pull away. My very favourite thing to do is start a race with a car and trick them into one of my 'race traps' of which I have a few dotted about town. Case in point - I start on the SOouth side of Vauxhall Bridge in London (don't ask me what I'm doing south of the river) and I pick a victim, or they pick me. I get ahead and indicate left to go onto embankment. 100m around that turn is a Gatso.
I tear off, so do they but I immediately slam on the brakes and they go shooting off into 3 points and a £60+ fine lol!
I have done about 3 or 4 chumps this way.

may i suggest this as a way of pissing your average boy racer off, nothing like a "girls car" to annoy "manly" chavs in saxos.Brianmoooore wrote:If you really want to annoy and embarrass the chavs/boy racers, this is the way to do it. yes it is a ford, it gives me the added advantage of if the breaks fail then it should be rusty enough to stick my feet through the floor and stop Fred Flintstone style.

While 'roaming' we were discussing the construction of a performance GT caravan that could handle the twisties too
in my book, someone who BUILDS a fast car has my respect. someone who BUYS one does not. anyone can go and lod themselves up to the eyeballs in debt and buy a 300bhp FWD chariot but if you can build a car that is as fast from leftovers from a scrapyard and a E30 shell then you win!

F*cking scumbag... You can't compete in your measly 318is, so you have to stoop to this level in an effort to come out "on top"Royalratch wrote: My very favourite thing to do is start a race with a car and trick them into one of my 'race traps' of which I have a few dotted about town. Then you feel so overwhelmingly satisfied with yourself that you feel the need to boast about it on a public forum.
Whatever you say about me in a positive or negative light mate, you've truly exposed yourself here.
I have a lot of shortcomings, but this is truly truly abhorrent behaviour. There's only one "chump" here... and it's none of the guys who were looking for a race.

That post was only a month ago you loser - how can you get upset 4 weeks later
I would never have normally looked at this thread again but when I saw your name as las poster I knew there was some fun to be had with whatever retarded noise you spout this time.
Such a sensitive soul you are, so caring about your brother chavs. Stop being such a faggot and admire my imagination and execution of flawless road vigilantism, dishing out justice to deserving boy racer filth who engage my antics of their own free will and then pay the price!
A life note if I may.
The car I was driving for the above exercise (and in life in general) is utterly irrelevant as a marker of status or reflection of my character - only you seem to think this way - very sad.
You truly are a woman.

Because I, unlike you, spend most of my time out in the real world. Having a real life outside the zone is pretty much the converse of being a loser dude. Deal with it.Royalratch wrote:That post was only a month ago you loser - how can you get upset 4 weeks later
I don't have the time to be sitting on here day and night waiting to come up with some witty comeback bullsh*t when someone takes some of the bait that you put out. I mean seriously, you pride yourself on your ability to tell people "what's what"
I can't think of anything more utterly valueless. What sort of a person strives to be good at that? What does that say about you?
The long and the short of it is that I, unlike you, am not desperate for attention!
Go on, write something really REALLY smart now to make yourself feel better. Like the good little keyboard warrior that you are.
