Trying to persuade an old friend to let me buy her m reg 318i tourer as she cant really afford to keep it properly and is using it as a cheap banger, got various problems (usual e30 stuff), paint work poor on roof and various scratches, engine seen better days....
I am trying to be honest with her about what it's worth but I do n't know what to offer her for it, I have told her I would find another tourer for her in better nick, but she say's she wants a astra or corsa....
I know M reg tourers are rare, does anyone know how many there are? What do you think I should pay if I have to get pound notes out?
Trying to purchase a "M" reg tourer, how much to pa

Its not rare enough to pay over the odds just for the plate!
Brianmoooore might like it though, he has a plate for it already.
as for value its worth whatever any touring in that condition is worth, at a guess given your piss poor description and no pictures £500-£900 after all it is an M40 turd.

Trouble is the later tourings seem to rust more than the early ones. There's no statistical proof but it seems to be a common tale.

i broke a late L reg one and it was certainly the most rotten car ive seen. There was p40 over rust all over the place, 3 owners from new too and the guy i got if from only had it for a year or too
we also had a J reg touring that had a hole in the sillsand a drafty floor pan. and a hole in the inner arch on the front Had about 8 patches of welding

Just wondering, how many months you would be sending 12 spare seats for?
Pee pee poor description?, usual e30 problems - knackered drivers seat, rust, no temp gauge/rev counter, elec windows only work with door open, cracked dashboard, previous bodgers, being used as a banger etc etc
