nagging problem
Moderator: martauto
For reasons i can't pinpoint, my accellerator pedal is very stiff to push down. the throttle reaponds fine, and the cable is free of any pinches or anything but it just feels really stiff...to the point where it can be tiring to drive-- anybody know of anything i could adjust or loosen to make it a little easier? (it and it's components have already been lubricated to within an inch its life)

Is the bracket the pedal's bolted into distorted or anything like that?
Is this a manual or auto?Jfogs wrote:For reasons i can't pinpoint, my accellerator pedal is very stiff to push down. the throttle reaponds fine, and the cable is free of any pinches or anything but it just feels really stiff...to the point where it can be tiring to drive-- anybody know of anything i could adjust or loosen to make it a little easier? I've always found the accellerator on auto's slightly heavier than manuals

Change the cable! My E46 paedal was really stiff & seemed free of kinks etc, but changed the cable and now all is good!

change the cable and grease the throttle body springs !
it's immposible for the pedal to get heavy it's got a plastic hinge !
