Suspension/wheel combo advise please
Moderator: martauto
I've got a tech 2 sport with B8 shocks and eibach springs (not sure what type approx 35-40mm) and i am running bk171 replicas with 215/40/17 yokos.
The rear shox are soft and need replacing. but i'm unsure what to do as the rear wheels rub on the inner wheel arches both sides. i have trimmed the lip up to get clearance but still bad on inner arch.
Am i right in assuming the sport is 20mm lower than standard? there for if i get 35mm springs i am only 15mm lower than a std sport?
I am thinking of raising the car slightly and fitting new b8 shocks but i dont know what springs to get or are there any spring seat shims i can get?
Would this cure my problem?
I like the handling benefits of the bilstein/eibach setup but too much negative camber at the rear and the obvious rubbing issue, I would like to see the car 10mm max lower than a std sport. Any ideas?

No, he's my dad actually.Jhonno wrote:More just wheel choice.. I am running very low on 215/40 17x8 et20 with camber taken out and have no rubbing issues..
Put some proper wheels on and some new shocks and bob's your uncle's aunt
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!
What a silly comment - the suspension design of the E30 dictates that lowering it created negative camber - irrelevant of the suspension manufacturer!Jhonno wrote:Never heard of camber issues running Eibachs btw..
Yup, just get some spacers - either buy or make them from some rubber sheeting.
As for the dampers, drop me a pm and I can sort you some Spax dampers if you want.
i think what jhonno meant is that eibachs aren't much lower than standard so are unlikely to cause silly amounts of camber that other lowering springs will, although it will still be increased over standard.E30star wrote:What a silly comment - the suspension design of the E30 dictates that lowering it created negative camber - irrelevant of the suspension manufacturer!Jhonno wrote:Never heard of camber issues running Eibachs btw..
