Given it is something 'special', so as to justify the bother, is it perhaps worth buying now and then worrying about sorting yours out MOT/sell/scrap etc afterwards? (I'm sure you can reason with your parents - after all, it is your own money?)

Imy - my advice would be to use the budget you had set aside for modding your cab (thread with bootyman) to purchase the motorsport cab - on the face of it this looks like a fair price.

I would then MOT and sell your cabbie in the spring when it is more likely to sell and the price will be at an optimum.

Just get rid of the thing as it seems your always wondering how much its worth and could you get x amount for it.

If your sick of it, just get rid of it for something else once you have the cash to trade up to a better one.
If you still like it, keep it and finish it.
