Wonder if [1 MB] and [1 AUDI] turn up at LHR to pick up their executives. I'd like to think they give each other dirty looks.

In jersey all plates start with a 'J' and then have between 1 and 6 numbers. Later plates now have 'JSY' followed by numbers.

I've seen J325 (on a merc :x), J31815 on a fiesta, and J666 on a granny wagon.

4 digit plates can go for over 1k to 3k, depending on the numbers/sequence etc. I'm hoping to get my hands on 'J 3251'/'JSY 3251', or 'J 32515' one day.

The second they allow a letter, I'm jumping for E30 something or M3 etc. Keep the useful ones and sell the others.

I was at the house of the owner of 'J1', it was an Aston Martin from the 50's IIRC, I'll dig the pics out.

Please do, if you can find it.

I'm sure J1 is the numberplate for the Bailiff of Jersey.

AUD1 and VW1 belong (or used to) to VAG UK. They used to go round all the franchised dealers on yearly rotation so that they were seen as widely as possible.

I nearly bought E30UNT on ebay a few weeks ago, but it was still on a semi-running 520i and would have involved a 350 mile round trip to collect the car, and masses of pissing about with the DVLA.

Imagine the comedy value with a little yellow screw through one side of the '0'... I expect it will resurface one day on a zoners car.

I know it's got nothing to do with E30's but it's the most expensive plate I've seen.

"CEO 1" price is £1,025,131.00!!

https://www.regtransfers.co.uk/main/sec ... teria=ceo1

So who's buying it? :D

I've never got the appeal of personalised plates? Why not spend the hundreds/thousands they cost on something sensible, like an engine swap or a full respray?

Rather than 2 peices of perspex
