lol, just wondered what people are already running, as there must be a few with 10J RM/RS's out there? Pics with wheel spec would be helpful :)

Reason I ask is i'm speccing up some custom wheels so just wanted to get a feel for it. Offset wise im guessing probably et0 to -12 ish.

i look at the orginal et if i'm working with RM's.

bith bbs split rims being built and changed, i always look at inner arch clearance. most rm's start at et35 when they are 6.5J. at that spec they clear the rear shocks, but if you are thinking about using a true coilover on the back the IS spring may not clear.

on 9J i built up, we stretched 215/40/15's on but thats difficult size to get hold of

Ah i see your point with the bbs. Ive been running some 9J et0 on the rear which sat pretty much perfect.

So am i righth in thinking (working from the table below) a 10J with an offset of -12 would give the same inner arch clearance (backspace), but stick out of the arch by an additional inch?

sounds it

if they are RM's and you are just adding a deeper dish to the existing rim, the rear clearance will not change. just the outer arch will need work

I've seen German E30's with 10's & Even 11's with minimum arch work. It all comes down to rubber and offset like you said, but if you want the car to be still half practical then it's better to have the arches done. I'm not a big fan of arches being rolled as 98% end up looking rippled. If you're gona do it then have them choped and flared properly so they look factory and still strong.

Lastly there is no point in running 10's if you dont have dish on the rims. You would be better off running 9's with minimum if any work at all!

I run 11's on my blue cab (Chopped arches) and 13's on the Rieger but only cause the kit allows you to. winkeye

:o Thats impressive. Got a buyer sorted for my current wheels now so should be getting the ball rolling soon :D ...My thoughts at the moment are to hell with making them fit standard arches, go for the offset thats going to look best and then make the arches fit the wheels

And yes, there should be copious amounts of dish :D Keep an eye out after xmas...

Yeah, all I know about this car is that it has had arch modification. To what extent though I don't know. :D
