Roof racks...........

Howdy,

Can anyone here recommend roof racks/bars that will not damage my minty fresh gutter/shadowline?

Considering selling my IS as I can carry anything fun like bike/surboards in it!!

There are plenty available - Halfords, Ebay etc. etc. Pretty much any bars that are adjustable and fit cars with gutters.

No idea what you could do to make sure it didn't mark the shadowline trim though - maybe some thin rubber padding between the bars and the gutters..?

I've got a pair I used on an Escort you can have. The sections that fit to the gutter are rubber coated. Will post a pic if you are interested.

Just checked mine and they don't fit an E30 gutter.

Must agree, thule are about the best. Got a set fitted to my touring for carrying bikes around, no damage to the paintwork after a year of being fitted.
